About the artist:
William Wessel has been creating one-of-a-kind iron sculptures for over twenty years. William’s extensive portfolio includes a wide range of subject matter and size, although his focus through the years has been on animal forms such as insects, birds and fish..  Each creation is formed by welding thin iron rods together to form a rough three dimensional shape. Areas to be fully enclosed, such as a fish body, are then filled in with additional rods then surface welded to create desired texture. On many of his pieces the many thin rods remain visible whereas other areas may seem as if they were constructed from sheet metal.
