Hand-crafted by local artist Michael O'Grady, these pieces are made from stunning olive wood imported from Israel. Non-producing branches from the olive trees are cut to keep the tree healthy, and the wood produced is from these branches. No trees are destroyed in the process, all that's left is a truly sustainable wood source which produces wood with breath taking beauty.

About the artist:
Delaware wood-turner Michael O'Grady specializes in kitchen accessories made from olive wood. Olive trees are evergreens native to the Mediterranean, Asia and Africa. The growth habit of the trees result in spectacular swirly figure. The majority of the olive wood used by Michael is imported from Bethlehem, Israel. As olive trees require pruning yearly after harvest, non-producing branches are cut to keep the tree healthy resulting in a renewable resource.

Hand wash with mild soap and water. Dry off with a towel. Do not place in dishwasher or submerge in water. A food safe finish has been used. For maintenance, apply mineral oil/ beeswax wood conditioner once a month to maintain the natural beauty of the wood.
