Gordon Stennett
bird carvings

In 1975, Gordon began carving as a hobby. As a child, he lived near a wood carver whom the family greatly admired and who inspired Gordon to try carving himself.  Through hard work and dedication, his hobby soon snowballed into a career. Now Gordon’s bird sculptures are widely acclaimed and sold across the country, including at the Smithsonian Institution. Gordon uses an array of the finest hardwoods. Using a combination of woods not only gives each bird distinction, but also highlights their features. Each part of the bird, from head to tail, is accentuated by the various shades of the hardwoods. Gordon’s bird sculptures are exquisitely detailed. With their charm and engaging nature, these bird sculptures reflect Gordon’s fine quality craftsmanship.
